Hugh B. Bain Middle School enables every student to reach their highest potential by establishing a curriculum that meets or exceeds government standards for education; providing extracurricular programs that develop children’s’ mental, physical and social skills; and partnering with parents and the community to create an environment geared to the success of all students.
Introduction
Hugh Bain Middle School is located in Cranston Rhode Island. It is one of the several middle schools in the state. The principal at the school is Thomas A. Barbieri. Separating this school from the others is it's dedicated faculty and staff and the high performing children that attend the school. Approximately 70 adults successfully teach and guide four hundred and fifty students in the seventh and eighth grade. The school was awarded "Middle School of the Year" by the State of Rhode Island and continues to hold high standards for all their staff and kids. Hugh Bain offers ESL and Bilingual Education Services for children that know more than one language or don't natively speak English as their first language. The school has a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds, making the kids attending the middle school culturally diverse. In 2010, the graduation rate was 81.3% which is much higher than the state target of 75.8%. With this context statement I hope to inform parents of possible students attending Hugh Bain Middle School in Cranston Rhode Island.

The school offers several extra curricular activities too for the children to get involved in which further positively effects the children attending the middle school. The school is shown to be culturally diverse which always benefits the kids and prepares them for the real world. The teachers and staff show to be enthusiastically involved in their job which shows in the children's high test scores. Hugh Bain shines over many others schools in the state of Rhode Island.
